Gabbard Torches Obama for Russia Hoax Flip-Flop

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard didn’t hold back during a fiery appearance on Fox News this week, blasting former President Barack Obama and the corporate press for dodging the most damning revelation from her office’s recent declassified intelligence review. According to Gabbard, the real scandal isn’t just about spying or wiretaps—it’s about a complete reversal in intelligence assessments, orchestrated by Obama himself, after Donald Trump’s 2016 victory.

Gabbard explained that prior to the election, the intelligence community concluded that Russia had neither the intent nor the ability to alter the outcome. But everything changed the moment Trump defeated Hillary Clinton.

“There was a 180-degree shift,” Gabbard said on The Will Cain Show. “Obama directed a new report that completely contradicted previous assessments.”

That shift, she claimed, came directly from the top. Gabbard alleged that President Obama convened a special National Security Council meeting and tasked then-DNI James Clapper with producing a fresh intelligence community assessment—this time asserting with “high confidence” that Russia interfered in the election to help Trump. Gabbard says the document was built on discredited sources like the infamous Steele dossier.

“They used intelligence professionals had already rejected because of its lack of credibility,” she said. “They knew it was garbage, but used it anyway to spin a false narrative.”

Gabbard accused Obama allies like Senator Mark Warner and Rep. Jim Himes of trying to distract from the damning discrepancy. “It’s the art of deflection,” she said. “They all say the same thing—but none of them touch the core issue.”

According to the recently declassified documents, the original assessments showed no clear Russian intent to influence the election. Yet post-election, Gabbard says the Obama White House engineered a public-facing conclusion designed to cast doubt on Trump’s legitimacy.

The timing wasn’t accidental, she argued. “They made this pivot only after Trump won,” she said, pointing to the infamous January 2017 assessment delivered just before the transition. That report—pushed by Clapper, Brennan, and Comey—claimed Russia actively sought to help Trump and hurt Clinton.

But Gabbard says the trio used sources the intelligence community already considered unreliable. “The Steele dossier had been debunked by then,” she noted. “Yet it still made it into the final report.”

The core of her accusation is explosive: that President Obama, faced with the reality of Trump’s win, politicized intelligence and reversed course to damage the incoming administration.

In her declassified file, released last Friday, Gabbard described this maneuver as a deliberate and coordinated effort to “manufacture and politicize” intelligence. She says there was never any hard evidence that Trump colluded with Russia or that Russia manipulated votes.

“People should be paying attention to what changed and who made it change,” Gabbard said.

The fallout has reignited calls from top Republicans for a full investigation. Congressman Jim Jordan has demanded that any plot to sabotage Trump’s presidency be “investigated to the fullest extent.”

For his part, President Trump continues to hammer the Obama-era intelligence establishment. He has repeatedly called the scheme “treason,” saying Obama and his allies should face serious consequences.

As more documents roll out from Gabbard’s office, the evidence pile is growing—and so are the questions for Obama. With the media still avoiding the topic, Gabbard made it clear: the American people deserve answers.
