Sen. Adam Schiff said President Donald Trump launching military strikes on domestic groups could not be ruled out.

The California Democrat made this claim on MSNBC’s All In on Wednesday.

Host Chris Hayes set up the discussion by talking about the Trump administration’s approach to cartels.

“The contention of the administration is they’ve called Tren de Aragua a narco-terrorist, that that elevates them and that we’re an armed conflict with them. Today the attorney general Pam Bondi, who refused to answer so many of those questions in a White House meeting about Antifa, said, essentially, we are going to treat Antifa the way we’re treating the cartels. Now one of those cartels, they have said, is a narco-terrorist, that they have the inherent constitutional authority to order strikes on. And I got to say, that moment, you know, caught my attention, given the level of violence they are directing at those cartels.”

Schiff responded with an alarming prediction about Trump’s intentions.

“It should catch all of our attention because if you look at where this started. It started with blowing up ships. You then have the president say, well, we may go to land targets now in Venezuela or elsewhere. And with statements like the attorney general, now you begin to wonder, do they believe that they have the authority by putting some groups on a list, even domestic groups, to use lethal force against them, with no trial, no due process, no nothing. And, you know, the reality is we can’t rule that out. We can’t rule that out. I mean, given the abuse, the misuse of the military in American cities, the president telling the assembled generals and admirals that we have an enemy within, it’s a military training grounds in American cities as far as he’s concerned, you cannot exclude the possibility that the next stage of this is to go after groups closer to home, or even here at home.”

Schiff’s comments reveal the deranged mindset of Democrats who oppose Trump. The senator is claiming Trump will order military strikes on American citizens. He suggests the president will use lethal force with no trial or due process.

This is pure fear-mongering and propaganda. Schiff has no evidence to support these wild claims. He is simply trying to scare Americans about Trump’s use of military force against cartels.

The Trump administration has been clear about its approach. Tren de Aragua is a violent narco-terrorist organization. They operate in multiple countries including the United States. They engage in drug trafficking, human smuggling, and brutal violence.

Treating them as a terrorist organization is completely appropriate. The cartels are literally terrorizing communities. They murder innocent people. They poison Americans with fentanyl.

Trump has the authority to use military force against these foreign terrorist organizations. This is not controversial. Every president has this power.

Attorney General Bondi mentioned treating Antifa the way they treat cartels. This is also appropriate. Antifa engages in domestic terrorism. They riot, burn buildings, and attack people.

But Schiff jumps from this to claiming Trump will order military strikes on Americans. This is an absurd leap. There is no evidence Trump plans to do this.

Schiff claims Trump is misusing the military in American cities. But the military is being used to support law enforcement against cartels and gangs. This is a legitimate use of military resources.

The senator says Trump told generals and admirals about an enemy within. Trump has spoken about the threat from cartels and gangs operating in America. This is true. These organizations are enemies of the American people.

Schiff calls American cities military training grounds as far as Trump is concerned. This is a deliberate mischaracterization. Trump is using military resources to help clean up cities plagued by cartel violence.

The senator then makes his most outrageous claim. He says we cannot exclude the possibility Trump will go after groups closer to home or even here at home.

This is pure speculation designed to frighten people. Schiff has no evidence. He is inventing a scenario to attack Trump.

Democrats like Schiff hate that Trump is taking strong action against cartels. They hate that he’s using military force to protect Americans. So they invent conspiracy theories about Trump attacking citizens.

This is the same Adam Schiff who lied about Russian collusion for years. He claimed he had evidence Trump colluded with Russia. That was a complete lie. No evidence ever existed.

Now Schiff is lying again. He’s claiming Trump will order military strikes on Americans. This is another lie designed to damage the president.

Trump is using military force against foreign terrorist organizations like Tren de Aragua. He is treating domestic terrorists like Antifa seriously. But he is not planning to order strikes on American citizens.

Schiff’s fear-mongering is transparent. He wants Americans to be afraid of their president. He wants people to believe Trump is a dangerous tyrant who will kill citizens without trial.

This is propaganda of the worst kind. It’s designed to undermine Trump’s legitimate efforts to fight terrorism. It’s designed to protect violent groups like Antifa from consequences.
