Zelensky, Putin Stunned By Trump’s Blunt Six-Word Message

President Donald Trump said he told both Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin that it is time to end the bloodshed and make a deal. He emphasized that the killing must stop.
The comments followed his bilateral with the Ukrainian leader at the White House. The meeting came after a joint press event in the Cabinet Room.
Trump posted his summary on Truth Social. He said the talk with Zelensky was cordial but direct.
“The meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine was very interesting, and cordial, but I told him, as I likewise strongly suggested to President Putin, that it is time to stop the killing, and make a DEAL!” President Trump wrote.
He then laid out the principle he wants both sides to adopt. He said the lines should not be redrawn by more deaths.
“Enough blood has been shed, with property lines being defined by War and Guts. They should stop where they are. Let both claim Victory, let History decide! No more shooting, no more Death, no more vast and unsustainable sums of money spent,” he added.
Trump argued that the war would never have started under his watch. He called for families to be reunited and for soldiers to return home.
“This is a War that would have never started if I were President. Thousands of people being slaughtered each and every week — NO MORE, GO HOME TO YOUR FAMILIES IN PEACE!” he wrote.
The outreach did not stop with statements. Trump is scheduled to meet Putin in Budapest after advisers from both sides confer next week. The goal, he said, is a swift path to an agreement.
A reporter asked whether his Middle East success is fueling these talks. Trump said the recent peace deal created momentum and credibility.
“We carry a lot of momentum, a lot of credibility. Getting the Middle East done was very important. Nobody thought it could be done. That was one nobody thought could be done. And we got it done,” he said.
He credited a decisive strike that he believes changed Tehran’s behavior. He singled out the air assets used in the operation.
“And a lot of that was the big hit that we put on Iran, with respect to the nuclear. That was an unbelievable military maneuver, the B2S and many other planes involved, by the way, but the B2S.”
Trump said the coalition that backed the deal was broad and unlikely on paper. He said it worked because the table was set correctly.
“Yeah, I think nobody expected that to happen, and you know, we had 59 countries involved, and these were countries–very diverse. You had Arab, Muslim, Jewish, you had every kind of–you had every country, Christian, you had every country, and many countries involved, and we got that done. And we got it done pretty swiftly after we set the table properly. We had to set the table properly,” he added.
He believes the same approach can work in Eastern Europe. He praised the people on both sides and said they share more than many admit.
“This should be one that we get done. And I think the table is set properly here now, and it’ll be a great honor to get it done, and the Ukrainian people are great, and the Russian people are great. And obviously, they have much in common. As we understand, they have a lot in common. So it’ll be a great honor to get it done,” he said.
The message to Putin and Zelensky was simple. It was also the same. Trump said the time for negotiation has arrived and the world should press for immediate de-escalation.
He argued that American taxpayers should not bear endless costs. He framed the push as pro-peace and pro-family, not pro-Kremlin or anti-Kyiv.
He also said that strength made the Middle East deal possible. He believes the same mix of leverage and timing can lock in a ceasefire.
The coming Budapest session will test that theory. It will also test whether both leaders want to end a war that has drained lives and treasure.
